As an artist and a Texan I can't say that there's much symbolism represented here. Peas are not the first thing that pops in my mind when I think of this great state and its great food.

For a state with such rich culture and heritage (especially culinary), the only thing that we could come up with to represent the state in a food type manner was peas?? What about a nice Texas-shaped chicken fried steak? Or some creatively arranged Tex Mex? Maybe some brisket? I am from Texas and love it with all my heart, so I was so excited to see what was chosen to portray my state, and sadly, I'm disappointed.

Love this one! Partially b/c I'm from Texas. But I'm going to ask Beilfuss to get the Texas and New Jersey plates for my Birthday! Thanks for being such an inspiration.
