About the Project

I was the art director for a short-lived music magazine based out of Pennsylvania called “Awaken.” I loved the opportunity while it lasted because it allowed for complete creative freedom in layout and the content was top notch. In the modern era of e-zines and digital issues, I miss the DIY zines. If I were running the show, I probably would have taken the magazine in an even more indie direction. But alas, it went under about as fast as it rose. We had a pretty decent sized fanbase. Oh well, I got an autographed Stellar Kart issue out of the deal! w00t! w00t!
