As Cities Burn EP
About the Project
When I found a few remnant As Cities Burn mp3s on my hard drive, I designed up a quick cover for them based on the classic painting Orazio Gentileschi. He’s not a common place master, nor is the piece I used one of his “masterpieces.” It’s entitled “Lot’s Daughters” and it depicts the Biblical story of Lot evacuating Sodom while the cities burned.
This piece is an exercise in art direction, it also makes use of my love for classical art. These album cover projects I’ve begun to post are quick practice pieces. I think they’re vital to staying sharp as a designer while I focus on illustration.
