I am in love with the new Kasabian album. After a fairly disappointing second album that originally made me consider passing on buying this record, the band has released an album that is even better than the first one in my opinion. From start to finish, it flows wonderfully and is an excellent example of an album that needs to be heard in its entirety instead of on an individual basis.
The thing I love about Kasabian’s music is the groove. Lyrically, they never make any sense to me but I don’t care because it’s so tightly wound together over a slick beat or bassline. There are heavy electronic and indie-rock elements, but at it’s core, it’s pure rock and roll. The confidence and dirty swagger they posses is downright brilliant. Fans of British rock, stoner rock, the first album, and all around trippy music should fully enjoy this release. Check it out here.
The cover art is also very successful in my opinion. It’s a nice photography setup showing the band getting ready for a party at the asylum (from Wiki).
Listen to: “Fast Fuse” “Where Did All the Love Go” “Take Aim” and “Underdog.”

Overall score: 9.5/10
In an attempt to post more reviews, I am now shortening the written length since I never post any b/c I feel I don’t have time to write them out. Also, I realized that when I read reviews I typically skim to the “overall score” and rarely read long-winded reviews. So why write them?

I like their swagger too. I think you said it all in your couple of paragraphs. Thanks for posting.
