Here I am in Billings Montana on vacation (on the way to Yellowstone of course) and my latest Threadless T submission is now up for scoring! It’s my first since I started Shorthanded Studio.

Here I am in Billings Montana on vacation (on the way to Yellowstone of course) and my latest Threadless T submission is now up for scoring! It’s my first since I started Shorthanded Studio.
Well the day is finally here, the wife and I leave for Yellowstone! I’ll probably still be fully in touch with all my technological necessities like e-mail, but I shan’t be doing anything about it. Just some relaxing and lots of sketching. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Maybe I’ll be able to post some of our own photos along the way as opposed to stealing other peoples images from good old Google.

Artist: Meg & Dia
Album: Here, Here and Here
Label: Sire Records
Release: April, 29, 09
The improvement from Meg & Dia’s debut Something Real and their latest release is astounding. I typically do not like it when bands jump from a small indie to a major, but in this specific case the payoff was beyond worth the risk.

In accordance with my redesign of the Jars of Clay album art, I also made some freebie wallpapers for those of you interested in that sort of thing. I made 2 different ones in both 1024×768 and 1280×1024.
I wrote a couple other posts about Jars of Clay, a review of Long Fall here and an overview of their career here.
Jars of Clay have had a pretty solid careers worth of album art, most of it I enjoyed. I believe that Much Afraid, If I Left the Zoo and Good Monsters all had great album art. Unfortunately I do not feel the same about the new album’s cover, and that’s a shame since this album is a solid step up for the band.

Artist: Jars of Clay
Album: The Long Fall Back to Earth
Release: April 29th, 2009
Label: Essential
Jars of Clay have had an excellent career. Too bad most people probably haven’t hung around to hear them create their most artistic and creative material. As I stated in my overview of their career even I left them for awhile, but I am more than grateful to be back. Good Monsters and The Long Fall Back to Earth are fantastic… and nothing like what you’d expect from the band that penned all those hits from the 90’s.

Introducing the newest addition to the family, a 14.2 pound piebald dachshund named Turner! My wife and I have rescued the little guy from the local Humane Shelter and thus far he’s been a great little guy.
I’ve been featured in the latest issue of seveneightfive, a “what’s happening” magazine in Topeka. It’s available for free everywhere magazines and books are sold, like Hastings where I need to go buy some new music.

The second show in Topeka is now finished. I took it easy on the guerilla advertising this time around and still managed an excellent crowd. I’d like to thank the return visitors and my out of town friends and family who made the trip to the Capitol of Kansas to see the gallery. It’s much appreciated. For those in the area who haven’t seen it yet, it’s on display through the end of May. Then what’s next? We’ll see…
